Top 20 Countdown - no.2

For 2009

No.2 - Tori Amos - Abnormally Attracted To Sin

Her best album for quite a while. See my post about it in the top-20 for the decade. She is in top form again - if only someone can tell her that she does not have to fill all the available cd space.

For the 00's

No.2 - Burial - Untrue

The soundtrack of our times, the sound of the decade, otherworldly music but yet so urban, so close to being the music that plays all the time in our minds, in the air, everywhere. And an archangel behind me at all times.

2007 Top-20 Countdown - No.5

Best Albums 2007 - No.5

Burial - Untrue

Returning this year with his sophomore effort, "Untrue", Burial, a still "anonymous" British artist, sets again the bar high for dub step music. His appeal though is not limited to fans of the genre. The dark, atmospheric music, inherent sadness, rotting decay that pervades the album, will send shivers down the spine of any listener. The strange thing is that, although it resonates as a very British record and experience, it makes me feel as if it is the soundtrack to my life. Genius and moving.

There are no video clips, just listen to the music:

Babyshambles - Shotter's Nation

When one thinks that being constantly drugged and making out with a famous model is reason enough to be taken seriously, things like this album happen. Enough.
